The city government of Isabela has bought two more new dump trucks to fortify its campaign on garbage collection and proper waste disposal and management.
With the two trucks, the local government has now five units of dump trucks and a compactor.
Mayor Dadah T. Hataman said that a big factor in the garbage problem is the lack of dump trucks for the collection of trash around the city.
The said procurement is a long term mechanism in reducing solid wastes, improving garbage collection and minimizing environmental and health hazards in the city which will benefit households, the official said.
“We have been successful in our clean Isabela program since day one because the provincial government lent us their trucks. We cannot forever use these trucks because the province also needs them so we prioritized buying our own for the city. We also thank the City Council for approving our request for this purchase,” Hataman added.
