Incoming Kidapawan City Mayor Jose Paolo M. Evangelista has called for unity among the Kidapawenyos following the May 9 national and local elections.
In a message posted on Facebook, Evangelista urged his opponents in the mayoralty race and their respective supporters to be united for the good future of the city.
“I am reaching out sa akong mga naka atbang sa pulitika nga sila ni Vice Mayor Jiv-Jiv Bombeo, Sir Jun Pińol, ug kay Sir Budoy Pino ug sa ilahang mga supporters na tapos na po ang eleksiyon. I am extending my hand; I am reaching out for unity. Magkahiusa ta. It’s time to work together para sa mas maayong Kidapawan para kanatong tanan,” he said.
The incoming mayor said a transition team has been created to ensure smooth turnover of the city’s leadership.
Evangelista and the other newly elected officials will assume their posts on June 30.
