Iligan City LGU provides ‘libreng sakay’ for frontliners, skeletal work force

The city government of Iligan said that free transportation will be provided for all frontliners and skeletal work force, either from public or private sector, starting Monday, March 23.

Those who will avail of the “libreng sakay” have to bring their IDs or certificate of employment from their respective employers, the local government said.

The pick-up areas in the morning are the Centennial, Dalipuga; Buru-un (Sgt. M. Canoy School crossing); and Suarez (Lidas store), with the time of departure at 7:00 a.m.

The Post Office and City Hall are designated as the drop off points while the same places are the pick-up areas in the afternoon, with departure time at 5:30 p.m.

The city government, however, also urged the private employers to provide transportation for their employees “so as to fully accommodate everyone still working in the city.”

It also reiterated its call to the public to observe social distancing.
