Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio slammed Monday the ACT Teachers Davao, saying they are “not only terrorists and sympathizers of terrorists, but also liars.”
The presidential daughter was reacting to the group’s reported statement posted on the Facebook page of 783 Radyo ni Juan, saying that Davao City was the only big city in the Philippines that do not give allowances to teachers.
“So, ACT Teachers Davao, hindi lang kayo terrorista at sympathizer ng mga terrorista, you are also LIARS,” she said on her Instagram.
She recalled that in December 2016 and 2017, the City Government of Davao gave gift cheques worth P2,000 per person per year to all teaching and non-teaching employees of the Department of Education (DepEd).
“We have copies of the budget, pictures of distribution and the liquidation with all signatures. Pahirapan pa nga magpa approve ng grant ninyo at kami pa ang nasa alanganin and you have the temerity to lie. Kung puwede lang sana kayo iexpel outside of Davao City,” she said.
“I waited for your paper and yet you always keep missing opportunities for unity, because you are never sincere,” Duterte-Carpio said.
She said DepEd should “dismiss terrorists from their ranks.”
“How ironic for government to pay public money to people who work against the government,” she added.
The presidential daughter urged Congress to expel the members of the Makabayan bloc whose members belong to party-list groups, including the ACT Teachers.
She accused that the party-list system is the “milking cow of terrorists.”
She also questioned the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for giving a permit to an “anti-government station Radyo ni Juan.”
“Why is our government supporting the same people who want to overthrow it?” she said.
