Davao City will be cleaner and greener with the help of the Japanese.
Mayor Sara Duterte welcomed his counterpart Mayor Kenji Kitahashi of Kitakyushu, Japan to town on Tuesday, Nov. 15 as they signed an environmental agreement between the two cities.
Under the deal, Japanese officials will extend help to Davao for imrpoved waste management and a lesser carbon footprint amid the rapid development which the southern city is experiencing. Among them is a knowledge-sharing agreement, where Davao officials can get pointers from Japanese experts on green projects.
“Davao City welcomes the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and technology as a city that is booming and developing, we welcome all the assistance we could get from our partners,” Duterte said. Arigato!
