Compostela Valley Governor Tyron Uy has expressed optimism that there will be better future for the province and his people in 2019.
In a message, the local chief executive thanked God for giving the grit and drive to continue life despite the challenges.
“We thank God for the gift of continuous progress and enduring peace to our province,” he said.
“We welcome 2019, with high hopes for a better future for all of us. We look forward for a growing economy, healthy and productive people, and peaceful communities,” Uy added.
The local government is pushing for the change of the province’s name to Davao de Oro.
