Gov Tamayo tests positive for Covid-19

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. said he tested positive for coronavirus disease.

Tamayo said his last close contact with a confirmed Covid-19 positive patient was on February 16.

On the following day, he said he tested negative, but on February 18, he experienced the first few symptoms of Covid-19.

Last Friday, February 19, the governor said he was tested positive after the RT-PCR test.

“From negative to positive, naka quarantine ako, so walang close contacts except my family who all tested negative as of February 20, Saturday,” he said.

While recuperating, he said Vice Governor Vicente R. de Jesus will be the acting governor.
