South Cotabato, through the directive of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., has delivered “in-kind assistance” to typhoon-affected families in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
“Through the collaborative efforts of the people of South Cotabato, the initiative of individual partners, and the help of private sectors, and business sectors, the provincial government was able to gather tons of goods despite the short notice,” the local government said.
The donations that were turned over to Tandag City include 500 food packs, 100 dozens of plates, four sacks of beddings, 10 cases of sardines, and 11 cases of noodles.
Tandag City Mayor Roxanne C. Pimentel personally received the donations from the team who traveled by land from South Cotabato.
Pimentel thanked South Cotabato for its assistance.
“Maraming maraming salamat po! Nakakagaan po ng loob namin sa kabila ng trials at difficulties lalo na ngayong may pandemic pa. As what I’ve said nakakagaan ng loob kasi you’re here for us, helping us, hindi kami nag-iisa. To the Provincial Government of South Cotabato please extend our heartfelt thanks to the generous Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr.,” she said.
Tandag City was devastated recently by typhoon Auring.
