South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo has issued an executive order extending the implementation of the general community quarantine (GCQ) in the entire province and imposing strict border control until July 31.

Under EO No. 28, Tamayo noted that the Inter-Agency Task Force has approved the implementation of GCQ in entire Soccsksargen Region where South Cotabato belongs.

“In a bid to curb the growing number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases and to stop the spread of the virus, the province deems it proper to curtail the movement of people in going in and outside of the province by extending the implementation of the general community quarantine in the entire province and imposing strict border control within its boundaries,” he said.

He said the mandatory imposition and observance of curfew will continue from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for all residents in the province.

Not covered by the curfew are health and other essential frontliners, workers, cargo vehicles, public transportation, and operating hours of permitted establishments.
