Gov. Nancy Catamco leads bamboo planting program

The first Lumad governor in the province is truly making a mark!

North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco and other provincial officials have successfully planted some morning bamboo seedlings. Said program is part of the governor’s “bamboo planting program” as a rehabilitation effort to prevent landslides, especially in the rural areas of the province. This activity coincided with the second phase of the provincial government’s re-building program launched in the area, where 295 families were provided with free housing materials, to rebuild their earthquake-stricken homes.

At the event, Gov. Catamco participated in a bamboo plantation in an area of the village, along with other county officials using some 4,000 bamboo seedlings prepared.
