Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy visited the ruins of Marawi for the first time since the war. On his Facebook page, the Politiko shared some photos taken from his trip to the ground zero that took most of the bullets from the siege last year.
“This is the ground zero during the Marawi Siege Attack. My great and utmost respect and appreciation to all our soldiers/ volunteers who have fought for the liberation of this City from ISIS”, he wrote on his Facebook.
Gov Jayvee also took part in the “Bayani Challenge” or “Kalinga Marawi” initiatve where locals came together to help rebuild the city.
“Build back better I guess. The people here needs help and hope”, he added.
