POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda “Angging” Dimaporo has urged the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to intensify their security operations, especially in potential hot spots for conflicts, in the province as the country holds the national and local elections next week.
“We should not be complacent, especially since the Election 2022 is fast approaching. We need to be prepared and ensure that everything will go smoothly and safe for the people,” the governor said.
Dimaporo convened the members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) recently to continue preparing for the peaceful polls on May 9.
As chairperson of both Councils, she lauded the continuous support of every member, from the national line agencies, the military, and other civil society, in sustaining peace and development in the province.
