Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Adiong Jr. led the celebration of the 62nd “Araw ng Lanao” Tuesday, July 13.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for concreting access road and construction of an open gym in Campo Ranao in Marawi City was held, the provincial government said.
The projects are funded by the provincial government of Lanao del Sur.
In the same event, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) presented the seized firearms from a rido settlement and former members of the terrorist Dawla Islamiah.
Adiong thanked the former bandits for surrendering to the government.
“Nagpapasalamat kami sa inyong pakikipag ugnayan sa gobyerno para sa kapayapaan. Bumalik sila sa atin para makipag tulungan upang mapigilan ang mga kumukumbinsi sa kanila na sumanib sa maling paniniwala. Penalamatan ame sekanu ku kiyarasay niyo sangkaya a gobyerno tanu,” he said.
