Two women allegedly posing as Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
NBI Director Dante Gierran identified the two suspects as Josephine Villahermosa and Deltha Bernardo who were arrested by the NBI agents at the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) office in Quezon City last June 13.
Gierran cited in a statement that the NBI acted on the request of Duterte who sought “a thorough investigation about unscrupulous individuals who make appearances before the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) in Quezon City using the name of Mayor Sara Z. Duterte and/or the Office of the City of Mayor of Davao City.”
The NBI chief added that Duterte also issued an affidavit stating that “she have not asked, instructed, or caused anyone to represent her or her office in various government agencies including NLRC.
Investigators learned that a caller has been calling the office of NLRC Commissioner Alex Lopez claiming to be Duterte and has been trying to exert influence over a case concerning Philtranco and VIctory Liner.
The caller threatened that NLRC officials will be axed by her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, if the case is not acted on quickly.
The caller said she will be sending Villahermosa as her representative.
The NBI arrested the women when they arrived at the NLRC last June 13.
Investigators found out that Villahermosa has been calling the NLRC and that her mobile number was the one she gave to the NLRC which claimed to be the private number of the Davao City mayor.
