The General Santos City Council has conferred award to outgoing local officials led by Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles, who held the position for nine years.
Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera led the giving of the Service Award during the 130th Regular Session of the 18th Council Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at SP Session Hall.
Aside from Nograles, those who also received the recognition were Councilors Atty. Ramon Melliza, Elizabeth Bagonoc and Alberto Pacquiao.
During her stint as vice mayor, Nograles initiated the SP Legislative Information Tracking System, SP Official Website, SP Livestreaming, SP Newsletter, SP LAN, SP CCTV Camera System, Aesthetic enhancement of the Legislative building.
She also took part in establishing the General Santos City Public Museum Project, Cultural Mapping Project, Barangay Reading Centers, GSC History Museum and the innovation of City Public Library.
Rivera thanked the outgoing officials for their services to the city.
“To the honorable members of the 18th Sangguniang Panlungsod allow me to express my warmest gratitude for all your contributions to our city. I commend all of you for the highest level of allowing great things to happen to our constituents by crafting resolutions and ordinances,” he said.
Rivera also welcomed the incoming Vice Mayor Atty. Loreto Acharon.
“To our incoming Vice Mayor Atty. Ton Acharon, congratulations once again. We are looking forward to working with you,” he added.
