The military’s Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) congratulated Lieutenant General Felimon T. Santos Jr. for his appointment as the next Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff.
Santos is currently the Eastmincom commander.
“Congratulations, LtGen Felimon T Santos Jr AFP, 53rd Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, on your well-deserved appointment sir!” said Eastmincom on its Facebook page.
“Your achievement is also Team Eastmincom’s achievement,” it added.
President Rodrigo Duterte has named Santos as the incoming AFP chief of staff. He will replace AFP chief of staff General Noel Clement who will retire from the service on January 5 when he turns 56 years old.
