Duterte OKs law increasing Caraga Regional Hospital bed capacity to 500


President Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law the bill increasing the bed capacity of the Caraga Regional Hospital from 150 to 500 beds.

Duterte inked Republic Act No. 11472 On June 19.

“The authorized bed capacity of the Caraga Regional Hospital located in Barangay Washington, Surigao City, Province of Surigao del Norte, is hereby increased from one hundred fifty (150) to five hundred (500) beds,” the new law read.

The law said that the existing service facilities and the professional health services of the hospital are also upgraded and increased to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity.

Additional plantilla positions will be created and filled up in the workforce of the hospital.

The hospital’s budget shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act of the Department of Health.

The Act shall take effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
