A drug suspect was killed and three other high-value targets were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in some areas in Mindanao, resulting in the seizure of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth P714,000.00.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspects as Diogracio Teves, Ismael Alauya, Samsoden Acmad, all high-value targets; and Muhsin A. Dansalan, the fatality in a buy-bust operation in Tawi-Tawi.
Joint elements of PDEA Regional Office IX and the local police nabbed Teves, Alauya and Acmad Saturday, March 7, in Purok Talaba, Barangay Kamangga, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.
Confiscated during the operation were one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing about 50 grams, with an estimated value of P340,000.00, a box, an envelope, two mobile phones, a vehicle, and the buy-bust money.
Another buy-bust operation was conducted Sunday, March 8, in Barangay Pag-asa, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi against Dansalan who allegedly fired at the operating team who returned fire resulting to his death.
Seized during the operation were four pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing about 55 grams with an estimated value of P374,000.00, a caliber .38 revolver with three live ammunition, and the buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
