The Cotabato City government under Mayor Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi, along with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), distributed Friday, December 4, livelihood starter kits worth P5 million to 250 beneficiaries in the city.
The city government said the assistance under DOLE-Employment Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) were given to the beneficiaries from the city’s 37 barangays.
The distributed kits include packages that would allow them to start up their eatery, barbershop, venture in carpentry, sewing, meat processing, baking, and cosmetology.
Pursuant to Department Order No. 173 series of 2017, the DILEEP has been implemented to achieve one of the government’s agenda, which is to reduce poverty and vulnerability to risks of the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable workers. One of the provisions of the program is giving away Pangkabuhayan Starter Kits to deserving individuals.
The program will enable the beneficiaries to jump start their entrepreneurship venture and provide for their families. This will also further develop and equip their entrepreneurial skills.
With the help of partners from line agencies like DOLE, the city government said it will continue to help and alleviate the lives of the poor and marginalized to improve every Cotabatenos’ quality of life. #
