The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is set to confer an award to Zamboanga City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ZCADAC) for being the “most functional anti-drugs abuse body” in the Zamboanga Peninsula region, the city government said.
The award will be given to ZCADAC in a ceremony to be held on December 28 at the DILG Central Office in Quezon City.
The city government said the information about the award was relayed to DILG Zamboanga City Office through its Operations Division Chief Jun Cillo by the DILG Regional Office 9.
Cillo said the ZCADAC bested the Provincial Anti-Drugs Abuse Councils (PADACs) in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte.
He said the ZCADAC garnered a functionality rating of 80 percent, the highest among the provinces and highly urbanized city category in the region.
He attributed the honor to ZCADAC’s accomplishments in the implementation of various programs and activities against the illegal drugs.
The official also noted the efficiency of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) under Dr. Elmeir Apolinario, being the head of the ZCADAC Secretariat.
