DA turns over P3M check to Mayor Climaco for purchase of 2 ‘Kadiwa’ trucks

Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has received a check worth P3 million from the Department of Agriculture (DA) for the procurement of two trucks to support the implementation of the “Kadiwa” program in the city.

DA-9, represented by Assistant Regional Director Ferdinand Gamorot, turned over Monday, March 1, to Zamboanga City through Climaco the check.

Gamorot said the Kadiwa on Wheels program in the city was able to market over P10-million worth of agricultural and fishery products. The program benefited local farmers through the sale of products as well as met the needs of the local consumers.

“Over 50,000 local consumers were able to avail of affordable products from the Kadiwa mobile market in various barangays,” Gamorot said.

The DA official also presented the local government with a plaque of appreciation for the city’s involvement and support to agricultural programs implemented by the DA in the city.

The check and the plaque were formally presented by Agriculture Secretary William Dar in Dipolog City last week.
