Cusi promises to look into gasoline price hikes in Zamboanga City – Mayor Climaco

Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi has vowed to look into the rising prices of gasoline in Zamboanga City amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Mayor Beng Climaco said Friday, October 22.

The mayor said she received a text message from Cusi after she made an appeal to the Energy chief to help solve the gasoline price issue in the city.

“We will look into this mayor,” Climaco said quoting Cusi.

The Department of Energy (DOE) is the agency that is primarily responsible for any and all issues related to energy exploration, development, utilization, distribution and conservation.

The city, on several occasions, has brought the matter to the attention of the DOE.

Climaco also sought similar help to Social Welfare Secretary and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) for Region 9 Rodolfo Joselito Bautista and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles in light of the exhorbitant gasoline prices in the city that range from over P61 to over P67 per liter.

Bautista has promised to bring the matter to the attention of the Cabinet.
