Cotabato City records 2 new Covid-19 cases

The Cotabato City government reported Thursday, July 23, two new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total cases to 25.

There are now 10 active COVID-19 cases in the city.

The first case is a health worker at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) who was possibly exposed to a positive patient, the local government said.

“She was among the first batch of workers who were isolated when CRMC decided to temporarily close its main building. She is asymptomatic,” it said.

The second patient is a 5-month old boy who was admitted at the CRMC because of urinary tract infection. He was later tested positive for Covid-19.

With the new cases, the local government appealed to every Cotabateño to always be mindful of their actions and observe minimum health standards.

“Make wearing of face mask a habit. Practice social distancing and refrain from going out of your homes when unnecessary especially if you are living with people who are immunocompromised or those who belong to the vulnerable sector,” it said.
