Marawi City Mayor Majul U. Gandamra said rehabilitation of the war-torn city will continue as he reiterated his support on the passage of a compensation bill for those displaced by the Marawi siege three years ago.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang lahat ng mga infrastructure projects sa loob ng most affected area,” the local chief executive said Saturday, October 17, coinciding with the 3rd anniversary of the Liberation of Marawi from the hands of the Maute-ISIS terrorist group.
“Sinusuportahan natin ang pagsasabatas ng compensation bill. Higit sa lahat, sinusuportahan natin ang lokal na mga industriya at muli nating ibalik ang sigla ng kalakal dito sa ating lungsod,” he added.
Maute-ISIS terrorists stormed Marawi in May 2017. The government forces were able to liberate Marawi from the terrorists after five months of fighting, resulting in the death of hundreds of people, including civilians, terrorists, and government troopers.
