Bangsamoro government Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim has declared Tuesday, October 19, as a regular non-working holiday in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
This is to observe the Maulid Un-Nabi or Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, he said.
Article 169 of Presidential Decree No. 1083, otherwise known as the Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines recognizes Maulid Un-Nabi, which falls on the twelfth day of the third lunar month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, as one of the legal Muslim holidays.
Ebrahim said that based on the advice of the Office of the Bangsamoro Mufti, Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta, the twelfth day of Rabi-ul-Awwal falls on Tuesday, October 19.
As such, October 19 is declared as a regular non-working holiday in the entire BARMM.
