China city eyes sisterhood pact with Davao City

Qingdao City in China is eyeing a sisterhood agreement with Davao City to promote investment and tourism exchanges.

According to the city government, Qingdao City officials led by Standing Committee Chair Song Yuanfang called on Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte Wednesday, November 6, and discussed the plan.

“They are very interested to explore Davao City. I advised them to take a tour of the city so that they can see on their own the possible areas that they can explore here,” Duterte said.

If the pact is sealed, Quingdao is the fourth city of China that Davao City has a sisterhood agreement. The other three include Jinjiang, Kitakyushu and Nanning. Qingdao is located in the Shandong province in China and is known for its beer.
