Busy siya for others! Deputy Speaker Sema not in hometown for b-day to help IDPs in Iligan

Good birthdays are celebrated with family members, but for this politiko, the best ones are marked by helping the needy.

Deputy Speaker Bai Sandra Sema laments on her Facebook that she could not go home to her hometown in Cotabato City, Maguindanao, on her birthday on Sunday.

The staff of Department of Social Welfare and Development, in Iligan City, Lanao del Sur, however, brought her a chocolate cake for her special day.

Why was she in Iligan? Sema is helping the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Marawi City.

In a post, the Maguindanao lawmaker was seen distributing food to the IDPs taking refuge at a covered court in Barangay Silang.

She even broke her Ramadan fasting by partaking to the soup in styrofoam cups, which the IDPs also ate.

Like her fellow Mindanaon politikos, Sema wishes for the crisis in Marawi to end soon.

It will happen with Allah’s grace. Eid Milad!
