BOC condemns P2.2-M smuggled cigarettes in Zamboanga


The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Zamboanga said it has has condemned 45 boxes of smuggled cigarettes worth P2.2 million.

The condemnation, which took place August 14, was part of the BOC’s drive to crackdown counterfeit and smuggled cigarettes.

The condemned goods were seized in the joint operation by various government agencies.

The operation stemmed from the information received that there were undetermined boxes of smuggled cigarettes of different brands aboard MV Maria Erlinda of Montenegro Shipping Lines Inc., a passenger vessel which arrived at Jolo, Sulu. #
