Bangsamoro gov’t, Tawi-Tawi LGU seek to revive tourism industry


The Bangsamoro Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism (MTIT), in partnership with the Tawi-Tawi provincial government, has organized a 4-day training on Tourism Oriented Police for Community Order and Protection (TOP-COP).

MTIT Deputy Minister Sukarno Abas, in a recent event held at Beachside Inn and Restaurant, expressed his hope to revive the tourism industry and generate tourism investments in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Tawi-Tawi, to create more jobs and bring income for the Bangsamoro.

Provincial Tourism Officer Pershing Taiyab facilitated an interactive workshop to local tourism stakeholders.

The official also underscored the role of the police in improving the tourism industry and boosting the tourist arrival in the province.

Some 30 police officers in Tawi-Tawi also participated in the seminar.
