The Bangsamoro government has started the construction of a 100-bed capacity isolation center for coronavirus disease patients for each of the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi to accommodate 5,000 Filipino returnees from Sabah and the increasing number of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) returning in the region.
Ministers Naguib Sinarimbo of Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), Raisa Jajurie of Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), and Eduard Guerra of Ministry of Public Works (MPW) led the groundbreaking ceremony for the isolation facility in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi Tuesday, July 20.
On Wednesday, July 22, the ministers led a similar ceremony in Indanan, Sulu and in Lamitan City, Basilan.
The groundbreaking for the 100-bed capacity isolation facility in Marantao, Lanao del Sur was held Thursday, July 23.
The isolation centers are targeted to be completed at the soonest possible time, the regional government said.
