A 22-year old stranded student in Cebu City who availed of the government’s “Balik Probinsiya Program” was the 12th confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patient in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Bangsamoro Health Minister Saffrullah Dipatuan said Friday, May 22, the latest patient, a resident of Datu Saudi Ampatuan in Maguindanao province, is now in a stable conditon.
He that the patient and 15 other stranded students in Cebu, upon arrival in the province, directly observed strict quarantine.
“They were brought directly to the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital (MPH) Hindi na sila nakauwi doon sa kani-kanilang lugar,” Dipatuan said.
The students are currently quarantined at the isolation facility of MPH.
Meanwhile, Bangsamoro Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) on Covid-19 Spokesperson Mohd Asnin Pendatun said the latest development should “not cause panic.”
“The patient is currently stable and underwent immediate isolation upon arrival,” Pendatun said.
“Moreover, the MOH is on top of the situation and providing adequate medical attention,” he added.
As of Friday, the total number of Covid-19 cases in BARMM was at 12, with four deaths, seven recoveries, and one undergoing treatment.
