President Rodrigo Duterte said he does not ride in the same chopper or airplane with long-time partner Cielito “Honeylet” Avancena.
In a speech in Bulacan during the groundbreaking ceremony of a high school Thursday, January 10, Duterte said he went ahead of Avancena in the event to ensure that when something bad happens to either of them, they would not leave their only daughter, Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, orphan.
“I have one child with Honeylet. Kaya hindi kami pwedeng magsama sa… She came late because iba ang chopper niya. Sabi ko hindi tayo pwede magsabay kasi p***** i** kung mahulog ‘yang y*** na ‘yan dalawa tayo. Eh paano iyong anak natin?” he said.
“Maski pag-uwi she takes the commercial. Ako kung meron akong ibang sakyan, hindi kami nagsasabay. And that has been my policy,” he added.
Avancena, who came from Bulacan, also attended the event.
Duterte said this was also his policy with his first wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, mother of his three children – former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, and Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.
However, he said Zimmerman did not believe in his policy and was always feeling jealous.
“Iyong first wife ko — nakikinig siguro ‘yung… Nagdududa siya bakit ayaw kong sumama? Sabi ko ‘Hindi pwede. May tatlong anak nga tayo’,” he said.
“She does not really believe in that stuff, ‘yung one-in-a-million. Kaya nagseselos, nag-aaway. Ang totoo talaga ayaw ko,” Duterte said.
