The Department of Trade and Industry-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DTI-ARMM) is set to open its annual Ramadan Trade Fair on Friday, May 11, with 20 of the 75 booths to be managed by the displaced residents in Marawi City.
Norkhalila Mae Mambuay-Campong, chief-of-staff of the Office of the Regional Governor, said the 20 booths will be subsidized by the Office of the Regional Governor.
The official said the regional government will also provide food and accommodation of the Marawi residents who will participate in the trade fair to be held in Cotabato City.
“We will be giving them grants of 30,000 pesos for capital and 10,000 pesos for the tools they will be needing as they take their business here to Cotabato City for the Ramadhan fair,” she said.
The fair will feature both food and non-food products, geared towards endorsing and renewing interest in the local goods available across the region.
A number of ARMM line agencies will also have their respective booths.
The trade fair will still feature a nightly program which includes discussions covering a wide range of Islamic topics, with different ARMM line agencies scheduled to take charge of the program every right, Campong said.
The event will be until June 15, which is projected to be the end of Ramadan.
