Davao del Norte 2nd District Representative Antonio Floirendo Jr on February 21 posted bail over graft charges in connection to the politiko’s stake in the Tagum Agricultural Development Co. Inc. (Tadeco) while he was a public official.
Floirendo voluntarily surrendered to the police in Davao City and paid a P30,000-bail after the Sandiganbayan issued a warrant of arrest against him.
The Sandiganbayan found probable cause in charging him of violation of the Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
The anti-graft court also issued a hold-departure order against Floirendo.
“While I welcome the hastily filed complaint, I would like to point out that this transgression on the part of the Speaker is not only political but a veiled attempt at grabbing the deal for his business and personal interest,” Floirendo said.
