Alvarez ‘surrenders’ to Mayor Sara
House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has “surrendered” to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio after bombarding him with expletives in social media.
In an interview with reporters in Butuan City Friday, February 23, Alvarez refused to comment anymore on the latest remarks against him by the presidential daughter.
“Surrender,” he said.
Duterte-Carpio, in her series of social media posts, called Alvarez as an “asshole” and even promised to campaign against him in the 2019 elections.
This was after Alvarez allegedly called Duterte-Carpio as an opposition following her creation of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), a regional political party, with local politicians in Davao Region as members.
Duterte-Carpio also became irked with Alvarez for saying that he could always impeach President Rodrigo Duterte being the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Alvarez, however, denied all the claims of Duterte-Carpio, such as tagging her an opposition and his remark to impeach Duterte.
Both the Speaker and Duterte belong to Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
