Davao del Norte First District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez has filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Monday.
Alvarez will be running for a third term. He promised to continue landmark reforms with the goal of reducing corruption, addressing inequality, expanding opportunities and lifting people out of poverty.
He is the president of Partido Reporma, which supports the presidential bid of Senator Panfilo Lacson and his running mate Senate President Tito Sotto.
Alvarez said he supports Lacson’s BRAVE bill, which seeks to increase the share of local government units in the government funds and empower people by allowing more participation on their part in the budget process.
