Abu Sayyaf’s Ajang-Ajang faction member surrenders to military in Sulu

An alleged member of the Abu Sayyaf’s Ajang-Ajang faction has surrendered to government troops in Sulu.

Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu Commander Major General Corleto Vinluan Jr. said Al-amin Jul-ambri, alias Albura, yielded Wednesday, December 18, to soldiers of Task Force 92 under JTF’s 1st Brigade Combat Team.

Jul-ambri turned over to military troops his US Garand rifle with pieces of ammunition and a magazine clip.

Jul-ambri received a sack of rice and financial assistance from the military. He is now in the custody of TF92 for custodial debriefing.

The surrendered militant is a follower of Abu Sayyaf sub-leader Alkam Uljamal Hadjail.

“All military and non-military actions are intensified by our ground forces to dissuade and convince more militants to lay down their arms and abandon their cause to put an end to terrorism in the province,” Vinluan said.
