An alleged member of the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group has surrendered to the government troops in Basilan, bringing along with him a high-powered firearm.

Joint Task Force Basilan commander Brig. Gen. Fernando Reyeg said Muhammad Basih, alias Iyong, submitted himself to the troops of the 4th Special Forces Battalion in Barangay Cabunbata, Isabela City, Basilan Sunday, April 12.

Basih handed over an improvised rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and one rifle grenade ammunition to the military.
