Abu Sayyaf frees DPWH engineer in Sulu

The Abu Sayyaf bandits released Monday an engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) after they abducted him last February in Sulu.

Engineer Enrico Nee was freed less than a week after the Abu Sayyaf also released the two female cops, whom they kidnapped in April.

According to Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Joint Task Force Sulu, Nee was released in Latih village, Patikul town apparently due to his health problems.

He said Nee underwent medical checkup and debriefing.

Armed men seized the DPWH employee in Barangay San Raymundo in Jolo on February 14.
