4 suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits nabbed in Zamboanga City


Four alleged members of the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group were arrested in Zamboanga City Thursday, September 26.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 9 said Aljiver Habibula, 35; Omar Julaspih, 22; Rody Marail, 36; and Nash Amik, 32, were nabbed during the implementation of a search warrant at Mangal Drive, Baliwasan Grande.

Confiscated during the search were improvised explosive device materials, such as four non-electric blasting caps, one electric blasting cap, five pieces of 40MM live ammunition, detonating cord, undetermined weight of suspected ANFO (ammonium nitrate/fuel oil) placed in 500 ml transparent plastic container, and a cellphone suspected to be triggering device, among others.

Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Froilan F. Quidilla lauded the government troops for the accomplishment and urged the community to be more vigilant and report all suspicious persons in their areas.
