A total of 332 detainees were released from different district jails in Cotabato province, the local government said Friday.
The detainees were freed Thursday, December 6, under the the Enhanced Justice on Wheels (EJOW) program of the Supreme Court (SC).
Most of those who were freed came from the North Cotabato District Jail (NCDJ) after a fast and on-the-spot and free court hearings and dispute resolution services – adjudication, mediation, and conciliation.
The provincial government said Supreme Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez lauded Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliňo-Mendoza for supporting and actively partnering with the SC in the implementation of the program, which aims to to give the poor greater access to justice.
This was the already fourth time EJOW was conducted in Cotabato.
