A government hospital medical technician, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a medical student were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Surigao City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspects as Harold Yuipco, a laboratory technician in Caraga Regional Hospital, Surigao City; his alleged cohort, Joseph Angelo Mancerra, a CPA; and Gabriel Paras, a medical technician and medical student.
Yuipco and Mancerra were nabbed during an anti-drug operation inside the room of a lodging house in Barangay Washington on May 18.
Seized from the suspects were suspected shabu with an estimated value of P2,000, several drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money.
On the same day, the operating team conducted a buy-bust operation in another lodge room in Barangay Taft, leading to the arrest of Paras, and confiscation of alleged shabu and buy-bust money.
The three suspects were all tested and found positive for use of shabu.
The suspects are facing charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. #
