3 marijuana cultivators arrested in Davao Oriental


The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has arrested three alleged marijuana cultivators during an eradication operation conducted in Davao Oriental recently.

PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino said combined elements of PDEA Regional Office XI (PDEA RO XI) and local police made the eradication operation in Sitio Lumba, Barangay Binondo, Banganga, Davao Oriental on March 7.

The team uprooted 277 fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated value of P54,000.00 that were burned right after the operation, and confiscated a 12-gauge homemade shotgun loaded with one piece of ammunition.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Section 16 (Cultivation of Plants Classified as Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act of 10591, or An Act Providing For A Comprehensive Law On Firearms And Ammunition And Providing Penalties For Violations Thereof.
