Three alleged Abu Sayyaf members were killed in the hour-long offensives launched by the government troops in Patikul, Sulu Saturday, May 16.
Maj. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr., commander of the Joint Task Force Sulu, said that five soldiers were also slightly wounded in the encounter. The injured troopers were immediately extricated from the clash site in Sitio Tubig, Paliya, Danag.
While three alleged militants were killed, the military said one cadaver and a high-powered firearm were recovered.
Bloodstains were found in the enemy position, indicating heavy casualties inflicted by troops on the Abu Sayyaf, Vinluan said.
