2nd COVID-19 case in Kidapawan City attended Matina derby – Mayor Evangelista

A 48-year old man who reportedly attended a cock derby in Matina, Davao City was the second case in Kidapawan City with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection, Mayor Joseph Evangelista said Thursday, April 9.

“The patient is a 48 year old male with history of travel from Matina Gallera Davao City. The patient is currently in stable condition and is already asymptomatic,” said the mayor.

The patient is currently confined in Kidapawan City Community Quarantine Center since the facility opened.

Evangelista said the members of the family of the patient are also being monitored while under home quarantine.

“Contact tracing has already been done. All persons contacted are under strict home quarantine,” Evangelista said.

With the new COVID-19 case, he said the city has been placed back under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) effective immediately.

Under the revived ECQ, the quarantine pass could only be used by one member of the family; all business establishments ordered closed by virtue of Executive Order No. 30 must suspend operation; Mega Market hours would be from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and special access passes given to other local government units could only be used once a week, half day only.

“We urge all Kidapaweños to unite and include both PH 3671 and PH 3989 in your prayers for their speedy recovery. Let us show to the nation that Kidapawan City is one and united in supporting all our Covid patients for their recovery. Indeed, we will overcome and heal as one Kidapawan,” Evangelista said.
