29 loose firearms handed over to military in Lanao del Norte


Residents from Lanao del Norte have turned over to the military 29 loose firearms.

Lt. Col. Bernardo Taqueban, commander of the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, said the assorted firearms were surrendered to their troopers Friday, October 25, by the locals from the municipalities of Matungao, Linamon, Munai, Pantar, Poona-Piagapp, and Pantao Ragat, all of Lanao del Norte.

The surrendered firearms include 11 Garand, four M16, and four Carbine rifles; five shotguns; and five handguns.

“The successful turnover was a result of our concerted effort and intensified collaboration with the local government units, stakeholders,” Taqueban said.
