22 stranded Zamboangueños return in Zamboanga City; now under quarantine

Twenty-two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) arrived early Monday, June 8, in Zamboanga City.

The Zamboangueños returned in the city from Cagayan De Oro City aboard a Rural Transit special trip facilitated by the local government through the City Tourism Office and Integrated Bus Transit (IBT) and coordinated with Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Region IX and X, Office of the Civil Defense, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and other concerned agencies.

IBT personnel led by Rafael Derick G. Evangelista III and City Tourism staff led by Julius Marinay were on site to supervise the arrival at IBT in Divisoria.

The city government said Mayor Beng Climaco provided hot drinks for the returning OFWs and LSIs.

After going through the health protocols, the passengers were ferried to city quarantine facilities, it said.
