Mayor Rabat turns over heavy equipment for Mati City’s landslide-prone barangays

Mati City Mayor Michelle N. Rabat has led the turnover of four newly purchased units of heavy equipment for four barangays prone to landslides. Two motor graders, a backhoe, and a dump truck will be deployed at the satellite office of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRM) in Barangay Luban, the city government said. All the equipment amounted to P50,993,500.

Valencia City Youth Development Office to unveil ‘youth hotline’

The Valencia City Youth Development Office (VCYDO) is set to launch a “youth hotline,” which can immediately respond to emergencies or queries involving the youths. The hotline will be unveiled on November 28 at Robinsons Place Valencia. The creation of a hotline is in response to a survey conducted by the VCYDO. The survey showed that some youths still do not know the numbers to be called during an emergency situation.

BFAR turns over motorized bancas, seedlings to GenSan residents

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-XII has distributed 20 units of 21-footer motorized banca and 192 lakatan tissue-cultured seedlings to the fishermen and farmers of Barangay Sinawal in General Santos City. According to the City Agriculture Office (CAO), a total of 8,000 lakatan-tissue cultured seedlings are set to be given to the farmers. The motorized bancas have a total amount of P1.4 million.

Mayor Siao officiates wedding of 15 couples in Iligan City

Iligan City Mayor Frederick Siao has officiated a mass wedding in Barangay Pugaan. Fifteen couples tied the knot during the “Kasalan ng Bayan” held recently. The newlyweds received 25 kilos of rice, giveaways, free hotel accommodation, and free dinner, the city government said.

Zamboanga City LGU collects hogs’ blood samples in ASF-hit barangays

The Zamboanga City government has conducted blood sample collection activities in areas hit by African swine fever (ASF) as the government works towards downgrading the city’s ASF status from red zone to pink zone. The recent activity was spearheaded by the Bureau of Animal Industry-National African Swine Fever Prevention and Control Program (BAI-NASFPCP) in collaboration with the Office of the City Veterinarian (OCVET) personnel.
