Authorities have arrested two suspected drug dealers and confiscated from them P6.8-million worth of alleged methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in a buy-bust operation in Marawi City.
Composite teams from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM), military and police nabbed the suspects identified as Jamil Khalid and Saranganu Bangcorong Khalil, alias Nur-Yahya/Marlon, residents of Barangay Kiratan, Molundo, Lanao del Sur, military’s Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) said.
They were arrested along Amai Pakpak National Highway, Barangay Datu Saber, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, February 15.
Seized from the suspects were two jumbo size plastic sachets and one large zip lock transparent plastic sachet containing more or less one kilogram of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated value of P6.8 million; one genuine 1000 peso bill placed on top of 15 bundles photocopied one thousand peso bill for the supposed payment of P1.5 million buy-bust money; six identification cards; and two leatherette wallets.
Apprehended personalities and the confiscated items were placed under the custody of PDEA-BARMM for documentation and filing of appropriate charges, Westmincom said.
