At least 17 people were feared dead when the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ C130 plane crashed in Sulu province on Sunday, July 4.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, in a statement, said the military plane with 92 personnel on board, including three pilots and five crew members, crashed while landing at the Jolo airport.
The other passengers were Army personnel supposedly reporting for duty.
“So far 40 wounded and injured were rescued and 17 bodies recovered,” Lorenzana said.
Rescue and recovery operation has been ongoing, he added.
